My Professional Journey
From Student Leader to SME Banking Expert: A Journey of Empowerment, Leadership, and Community Impact
My journey began at Egerton University, where I served as a Student Leader, responsible for overseeing the welfare of students in the Halls of Residence. This role instilled in me a strong sense of responsibility and leadership, which shaped my approach to work and community engagement.
After graduating, I joined Equity Bank, where I spent over six years in various roles, including Relationship Supervisor and Ecosystem & Value Chain Banking Supervisor. I focused on financial inclusion, building relationships with small businesses, and promoting economic growth through tailored financial solutions. My work in Ecosystem Banking involved onboarding retailers, facilitating cross-selling of payment solutions, and creating synergies between businesses and financial institutions.
In 2025 April, I transitioned to Absa Bank as an SME Banker, continuing to drive the growth of small and medium-sized businesses by providing them with strategic financial support. This role allows me to guide businesses on their journey towards sustainability and profitability, empowering them to thrive in an ever-evolving economic landscape.
Beyond the corporate world, I am deeply committed to community service. I volunteered at Dandora Primary School, where I initiated the Pupil for a Tree program, nurturing students’ talents and promoting environmental sustainability. Through this initiative, I encouraged students to take part in tree planting and environmental conservation, fostering a sense of responsibility for the planet from a young age.
I am also the founder of Inspired Africa, a youth empowerment project focused on education, mentorship, and sustainability. The project works to uplift young people by equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities to succeed.
My career is more than a professional journey—it’s a mission to inspire change, promote financial literacy, and create lasting impact in communities and businesses alike.
